Israel Attacks Iran

I’m still looking at getting a news update out sometime Friday afternoon but I wanted to give an update on the ongoing strikes Israel is making on Iran. I’ve been trying to take notes as this has been happening so I’m just going to drop those here. This will almost look like a “Live Tweet” (except it’s not really all that live, I guess). Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to better document ongoing situations like this.
At about 8pm EST Israel launched their pre-emptive strike against Iran. One of the first reports was of 6 explosions in the capitol city of Tehran.
US Officials have told Fox News that they have no involvement in Israel’s attack on Iran, nor have the provided any support. Marco Rubio has made an on the record statement saying the same.
Israel is stating they are striking key military and nuclear targets inside of Iran.
Targets in Tehran were made on sites known to house Iranian military officials.
Israel appears to be targeting Iranian air defense capabilities, likely for a larger attack later.
Israel has announced that the name of this operation is “People Like a Lion”, which comes from Numbers 23:24.
“Look, a people rises like a lioness, And lifts itself up like a lion; It shall not lie down until it devours the prey, And drinks the blood of the slain.”

It’s now been confirmed that Israel is attacking in Yemen at the same time they are attacking in Iran.
Israeli Defense has released a video statement.
After the first hour of the attack more than 100 missiles have hit Tehran, alone. After 2 hours 240 missiles have hit Iran. And after 3 hours, more than 300 missiles have struck targets in Iran. It appears that Iran’s missile defense system is still completely inoperable after the Israeli attacks which preceded Iranian True Promise 2.
Netanyahu has confirmed strikes against the Natanz nuclear facility.
· Numerous explosion in Kermanshah near the Kerman power plant.
Reports of explosions in Fordow.
Netanyahu says that Israel specifically targeted senior officials of the Iranian nuclear program.
The White House has “put a lid” on events for the day and the press has been informed that they shouldn’t expect anything further from the administration for the evening. There’s speculation that Trump was taken to a bunker but this is uncomfirmed.
Amir Tsarfati is reporting that the Uranium enrichment facility in Natanz no longer exists. Iranian TV has also confirmed this.
At the same time the strike was going on, Mossad agents on the ground in Iran conducted covert operations to take out detection capabilities for Iran as well as performing precision assassination operations of key IRGC individuals or nuclear scientists.
The Heavy Water facility in Arak has also been targeted.
Now there are reports of explosions in Isfahan, Iran. The home of another nuclear site, as well as a production facility for munitions and fighter jets.
An Israeli source says, “The attack on Iran was preceded by a deception operation that included media and political components, both domestically and internationally, with the participation of various parties. Israel managed to surprise Iran with mind-blowing maneuvers.”
This may actually be saying that the US deflections were part of the Israeli plan.Smoke is billowing out of the IRGC Command Headquarters.
Amir Ali Khajizadeh, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Air and Space Force has been terminated.
Iranian TV is reporting that there are unconfirmed reports that the Revolutionary Guard Commander, Hossein Salami, has been killed in the attacks. (This has since been confirmed).
Iranian sources are saying that there are “no more red lines”. And Iran state media is saying that, “Iran will surprise the world in the next few hours.”
Israeli fighter jets have been seen in the skies of Tehran, with no anti-aircraft fire impeding their flight.
The US is moving critical assets out of the Middle East.
Iran’s foreign ministry believes that responding with no limits to Israel is justified under international law.
Israel has put their doomsday plane up in the air.
There was a massive explosion in Kermanshah, Iran.
Another massive explosion in Tabriz.
Donald Trump released a statement to FoxNews where he inexplicably said that he was briefed on the attacks in advance and that this wasn’t a surprise. He still hopes that Iran will return to the negotiating table. I’m not sure what will be left for Iran to negotiate.
Iran has officially announced that they will not be attending this Sunday’s nuclear talks.

Iran has officially launched True Promise 3 as a retaliation to these Israeli attacks and Iran has stated that 800 drones and missiles have been launched on Israel. However, at this point is looks like it’s mostly drones included in this wave.
Iran has officially raised the red flag of revenge over the Capitol
.
Israeli Homefront Command has announced that all drones will be shot down and there is not a need at the moment for Israelis to stay near a protected area.
